Contemporary Fiction Editorial Review
Exquisite Corpse tells a haunting and gripping story set during the AIDS panic in New Orleans, following the intertwined lives of four characters, including two sadistic serial killers. The writing is beautifully descriptive, delving into themes of horror, depravity, and human psychology, drawing readers deeply into its disturbing narrative. This book stands out for its unique combination of lyrical prose and shocking content, appealing to those with a taste for extreme horror. Readers have praised it for its ability to captivate and enthrall, although it is also noted for its graphic and unsettling depictions of violence and sexuality. The author, a trans man, brings a unique perspective to this narrative, invoking deep thoughts about taboo subjects while steering clear of traditional uplifting romance.
