What is the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit designed for?

The Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit is specifically designed for use with CDU and SPF sump pumps. It enhances the pump's ability to monitor and control water levels in sump basins. This float kit includes a reliable float switch that triggers the pump when water reaches a specific level, ensuring efficient water removal during heavy rainfall or flooding, and protecting your home from water damage.

How does the float switch in the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit work?

The float switch operates by using a buoyant float that rises and falls with the water level inside the sump basin. When the water reaches a predetermined height, the float activates the sump pump, allowing it to start removing water. This auto operation is crucial for preventing overflow and maintaining the sump system's functionality, especially during storms or flooding periods.

Is the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit compatible with all sump pumps?

No, the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit is specifically designed for use with Wayne CDU and SPF series sump pumps. It's essential to ensure compatibility with your specific sump pump model for optimal performance. Using mismatched kits can lead to ineffective water management and possible damage to your pump system.

How do I install the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit?

Installing the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit involves straightforward steps: first, disconnect power from your sump pump. Next, attach the float switch to the designated bracket or mounting location in your sump basin according to the instructions. Ensure the float can move freely without obstruction to guarantee proper activation, then reconnect power and test the setup. This installation helps facilitate automatic pump operation, safeguarding your area from flooding.

What materials are used in the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit?

The Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit is constructed from durable, high-quality materials designed to withstand harsh conditions in sump basins. The float itself is made from robust plastic that resists corrosion and degradation over time. This durability ensures long-lasting performance, making it reliable for continuous use in any environment prone to water accumulation.

Can I use the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit in a primary residence?

Absolutely! The Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit is ideal for use in primary residences, especially in areas prone to flooding or heavy rainfall. By properly installing this float kit with your sump pump, you can efficiently manage water levels, safeguarding your home against potential water damage and providing peace of mind during stormy weather.

What maintenance is required for the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit?

Regular maintenance for the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit involves periodic inspections to ensure the float is functioning properly and not obstructed. Check for debris in the sump basin that could hinder the float's movement. Additionally, testing the pump's operation occasionally can help ensure everything is working as intended, preventing unexpected failures during critical times.

What should I do if the float switch malfunctions?

If the float switch in the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit malfunctions, the first step is to disconnect power to the sump pump. Check for any blockages or debris that may be impeding the float's movement. If the float appears damaged or dysfunctional, replacement of the float kit may be necessary. Regular inspections can help prevent these issues, ensuring reliable operation during times of need.

Wayne Pump Accessories Editorial Review

The Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit For CduSpf is a replacement float kit compatible with Wayne sump pumps and some Ridgid pumps. It includes a rod, a float, and a float guide. Installation involves removing the pump from the pit and unhooking the rod with the old float from the float arm, then hooking the rod from the new kit into the hole on the float arm and stretching the rubber strap over the platform on the lower bracket of the pump. Customer experience and reception of the Wayne 60038-001 Float Kit for CduSpf is mixed. Some found it to be a quality upgrade to their previous model and highly recommend it as it saved them money from having to purchase an entirely new pump. Others had issues with receiving a used float set instead of a new one and expressed frustration with the Wayne brand. One reviewer noted that their brother fixed the pump with a piece of stainless steel rod instead, and another said that the rod from their original float corroded but that the new kit worked like a charm.
