The main character, Kef Cutmark, is a skilled thief who recruits a crew to help her steal the lightning collector, the prized source of power in the city-ship of Zorith. The world-building in The Thunder Heist is detailed and immersive, painting a vivid picture of life in the Twisted Seas. The action scenes are frequent and thrilling, and Herne's Prose is crisp and easily readable. While the novel is relatively short, it still manages to deliver surprises and twists that keep readers engaged. The only weakness of the story is that character development and background details are somewhat lacking. However, Kef Cutmark is a compelling protagonist and Herne's writing shows potential for further development in future books. Overall, The Thunder Heist is a fun and unique read, combining elements of nautical fantasy and heist stories.
