The author of 'Notes from Underground' is Fyodor Dostoevsky, a prominent Russian novelist known for his psychological depth and exploration of moral dilemmas. His works continue to inspire discussions on ethics, psychology, and society.

What is the significance of the Underground Man in the novel?

The Underground Man serves as a complex embodiment of alienation and introspection. His conflicted personality challenges readers to empathize with a character deeply entrenched in despair, cynicism, and self-loathing. Through the character's reflections, Dostoevsky critiques social and philosophical trends of his time, such as rationalism and utilitarianism. Understanding the Underground Man’s struggles allows readers to engage in deeper questions about self-identity and the human condition, making his character resonate with audiences across generations.

Is 'Notes from Underground' a difficult read?
