What is the Pro-Ject Acryl-E Acrylic Platter Upgrade?

The Pro-Ject Acryl-E Acrylic Platter Upgrade is a high-quality replacement platter designed specifically for Pro-Ject Essential turntables. Made from acrylic, it provides superior sound quality by minimizing vibration and resonance, allowing for cleaner audio playback. This upgrade enhances the overall performance of your turntable, making it ideal for audiophiles seeking a richer, more detailed sound experience.

How does the acrylic material improve sound quality?

Acrylic is known for its excellent damping properties, which reduce unwanted vibrations that can color the sound. By replacing the standard platter with the Acryl-E platter, you can expect a more stable rotation and clearer audio reproduction. This improvement is particularly noticeable in detailed music genres such as classical or jazz, where nuances and subtleties are essential for an immersive listening experience.

Is the Pro-Ject Acryl-E platter compatible with all Pro-Ject Essential turntables?

Yes, the Pro-Ject Acryl-E Acrylic Platter Upgrade is designed to fit all models of the Pro-Ject Essential turntables. Its precise dimensions ensure a perfect match, making installation straightforward. This compatibility means you can enhance the sound quality of your turntable without worrying about fit or performance issues.

What are the installation steps for the Acryl-E platter?

Installing the Pro-Ject Acryl-E platter is a simple process. First, ensure your turntable is powered off and disconnected. Carefully remove the existing platter, then place the Acryl-E platter on the spindle, ensuring it sits flat and secure. This straightforward upgrade allows you to enjoy enhanced sound quality in just a few minutes, making it accessible for users with minimal technical skills.

Will the acrylic platter affect the tracking force of my cartridge?

The Pro-Ject Acryl-E Acrylic Platter does not inherently affect the tracking force of your cartridge. However, as the platter is slightly heavier than standard options, you may wish to check and adjust your tonearm's tracking weight to ensure optimal performance. Proper tracking allows the stylus to maintain better contact with the record grooves, resulting in accurate sound reproduction.

Can the acrylic platter help with my record's surface noise?

Yes, one of the benefits of using the Pro-Ject Acryl-E platter is its ability to reduce surface noise. The material absorbs vibrations that can cause unwanted noise during playback, leading to a quieter listening experience. This is particularly beneficial for older vinyl records that may have inherent noise, allowing the music to shine through without distractions.

What aesthetic benefits does the acrylic platter provide?

The Pro-Ject Acryl-E platter not only enhances audio performance but also adds a modern and sleek look to your turntable setup. Its transparent design showcases the inner workings of your turntable while adding a touch of sophistication. This visually appealing upgrade complements various home decor styles, making your audio equipment a stylish addition to your living space.

Is the Pro-Ject Acryl-E platter maintenance-free?

While the Pro-Ject Acryl-E Acrylic Platter is relatively low maintenance, it is advisable to clean it periodically to maintain its clarity and performance. A microfiber cloth can be gently used to wipe off dust and fingerprints, ensuring the platter remains in optimal condition. By taking simple care of it, you can enjoy both its aesthetic appeal and functional benefits for a long time.

What is the weight of the Pro-Ject Acryl-E platter?

The Pro-Ject Acryl-E Acrylic Platter weighs approximately 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs), which is heavier than many standard platters. This additional weight enhances stability during playback, reducing flutter and improving overall sound quality. A stable and heavier platter contributes to consistent speed, which is critical for delivering the best sound from your vinyl records.
